Anybody familier with getting a VA certificate of eligibility? I was in the Air Force from 1979 to 1982. I did not leave on the best terms. Do not have an honorable discharge, I have a general discharge. Do you think I can still qualify for a VA?

You may be able to get a VA loan. Here's the government website:

Hope this helps
While a general will prevent you from some benefits, you can usually still get a VA loan according to the web site. Even some people with an OTH or Dishonorable can still get one. It kind of depends. I think you have a decent shot.

An additional question regarding VA loans...
Does your credit have to be similar or better than a traditional loan in order to qualify?

It does not have to be as good, but they do not allow BK's that are recent.
