I filed BK on 15 creditors in 2/2000. In the last three years, they have been falling off and I am down to 5 creditors left. Why is this happening? I also had a repo from 99 and that is no longer on my credit reports either. Is this a good thing or bad thing?

Don't question it, just be glad it is happening. Its prob the creditors taking you out of their systems, which takes you off the tape they send to cra's for updates.

Was just surfing through here and found this older post and was wondering...if they are falling off and he doesn't know why could it be that he has a split file? I can see if they were falling off because he is disputing, but it sounds like he is surpised. Just curious.

Chances are what is really going on here is that the accounts were all seasoned enough to now be deleted. Once they are 7 years old they are obsolete. I think being that he filed in 2000 they were all prob a few years old by then. Add that age to the next almost four years since the bk, and it prob comes close to 7 years.

A split file for the most part does not get rid of bad accounts, it drops the good ones.

I think you are right on some of them. These accounts are from 94-95-96.
That could be it I guess but I won't argue about it. that is fine for me.
