I just got a summons @ work to appear in court on June 25 2002. I'm not sure exactly which credit card it is but I haven't requested any validations. I supposedly owe $6000 which is mostly ridiculous interest. I certainly do not want these %&$^#& to garnish my wages after judgement,,,what can I do?
Also the debt is not even 2yrs old yet? How can they sue me so soon? Someone please tell me what to do!!!!!!

I'm afraid I don't have much good news for you. They can sue you anytime after the account is charged off or goes to collections.

What to do? I'd call them and find out if you can settle with them for less money, even on a payment plan. If they won't, make sure you haven't signed anything. I would go to court and see what they have as far as documentation on you: signed application, what kind of records they have showing last payment, etc. I'd also show up with a budget in court showing that you can't afford big payments and/or garnishments.
