The debate whether the FDCPA is $1000 per action or per violation can now be put to rest. Here's a link with plenty of case law establishing that it is not per violation but per action, meaning per case. Also, don't forget that is $100 to $1000 and it's up to the discretion of the court to award the amount.

What about the FCRA?? I seem to find conflicting information on that one too. I have seen it with both per violation and per action?? Any clarification on this one?

True unfortunately.
It would be nice if the FDCPA was per violation as well.
