Hello, I am filing Ch 7 BK. I have searched but nowhere in any of the books or kits that I have does it say whether or not to list collection agencies or just the original creditor. Can you answer this question for me?

Oh, I can help you there, absolutely list ever one who says you owe them money, the original creditor and the collection agency. That way you cover your bases and don't have to amend your bankruptcy later because you overlooked someone trying to say they where not included and that you have to pay them.

2nd question: A friend of mine filed BK a few weeks ago and since she reaffirmed the debt with her car finance company, they are willing to continue the relation and help her buy another car. Is this normal after BK? I have heard so many horror stories. Also Sears offered her a deal. I thought they never did that.

I think it really depends on how her credit looks & if there where circumstances.

Some people wait to file on the bankruptcy until all of their accounts are delinquent (they just dragged it out waiting to the last possible minute to finally face the fact they had to file) - and this really hurts the scores, drags them right down.

Where as others if they know it is a none fixable situation, they will file before delinquencies even show up on the credit reports - so the damage has less of an impact on the credit scores.

Could be another thing is that the lender, chooses not to grade on credit scores, or just grade her on her prior established relationship. And the fact that she reafirmed on the debt, affected their decision as well.

Some people are very fortunate in these cases, I have seen people two years out of bankruptcy with as high of a credit score as high 600's or low 700's, they just had the means to bounce back better then others.

Than finally, there may be another reason which we don't even know about, but the ones I mentioned would be my guess on this matter.
