If you are getting no where with a CA or even and OC you can file complaints about them. This has helped to resolve some issues and gotten some deletes. Make sure you have attempted to settle the issues on your own first, if after a few trys, try making complaints to the right places.

FTC CONSUMER COMPLAINT FORM (https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01)

BBB (http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp)

STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL (http://www.naag.org/ag/full_ag_table.php)

Before actually filing a complaint, you should threaten the furnisher that you will be doing it should the not conform. Otherwise, you'll loose the leverage of the threat if you just go ahead and file.

Also, Planet Feedback (www.planetfeedback.com) is a good source to use against OC's because the complaints are public and many OC's, believe it or not, do care about their reputation and will not want their name in the dirt.

One thing people forget quite often is...if the company you're complainging about is a collection law firm...they're STILL a law firm. File with their state's Bar Association.

Don't forget, you can call the FTC and ask for advice or make a complaint. 1-877-382-4357. They even give you a reference number to refer to if you call back.
