What is the most effective way in getting good postive trade lines re-inserted back into your credit report once a CRA has deleted them.
This has been a big pain for me for over a year.
In the past, I have sent disputes to Trans Union about certain trade lines, mostly because the bank or credit union had not updated the account in months or showed it as paid in full (like my car loan only had two payments on it instead of an entire year, etc...).
Trans Union is trigger happy in deleting those trade lines when the banks and credit unions don't respond within 30 days. Unfortunately, that never works with negative trade lines.
It took me like ten months to get this one bank to re-insert a paid in full trade line. The bank rep and a loan officer didn't have a clue on how credit reporting works. Their answer for everything was for me to contact Trans Union and make a dispute with them.
I told them that wasn't possible because once Trans Union deletes a trade line, that account no longer exists.
For a few banks/credit unions, I told the bank rep to highlight an important Word file on their computer and then press SHIFT DELETE. And then I asked them to try to edit that Word file now. Only then, did they understand what I meant about Trans Union (although they weren't too happy about zapping their work into silicon heaven).
For onne bank, a loan officer insisted that the only way to get that trade line restored was to make a dispute with Trans Union. In her office, I got a Trans Union customer service rep on the phone who explained to her that once Trans Union does delete a trade line, a consumer can no longer make any more disputes because it no longer exists.
In a way, it was actually a lot of fun to watch her go through the bureaucracy of the bank because every bank employee told her that I had to make the dispute with Trans Union. That took ten months of constant hounding to get that trade line re-inserted.
Right now, I have a line of credit and a paid in full signature loan with one bank that I want to get re-inserted. This bank told me that they were going to do a Bulls Eye for the paid in full loan but that was sixty days ago and that trade line has not been re-inserted. Prior to that, I hounded another bank employee from the same bank for six months to get that re-inserted but to no avail.
And my car loan with my credit union, I have fought them about that for TWELVE months and that trade line still has not been reinserted and I am about three months away from it getting paid off.
Trans Union told me that even when a creditor updates with a tape, that tape will not restore the trade line. It takes a bit of effort on the part of the creditor to restore the trade line (is that what Bulls Eye is for?).
So I guess my question is this: Is a direct and effective approach I can use to get my positive trade lines re-inserted back into Trans Union without having to fight with loan officers and bank reps for months on end???
