It has been a long time since I have had a business checking accounting (like seven years ago).
I may open one up very soon.
Anything in particular that I will need? Its business address will be based on a private mailbox.
Using a private mailbox for your business address may show as a "red flag" later. Private mailboxes are usually linked to potential fraud.
You can use your home address for your business and have your statements sent to where you want. This way you can still operate out of your box, but you still have a "real" address on file.
As for business documentation, it depends on the legal structure of the business:
Sole Proprietorship/DBA's - Ficticious name statement
Partnership - Fictitious Name Statement & Partnership agreement
LLC - Filing with your secretary of state, member operating agreement, Tax ID #
S or C Corp: Filing with secretary of state, articles of incorporation, meeting minutes that list the names and titles of the officers, tax id#
Be prepared to bring originals of all documentation to your bank for business verification. It is a common standard for all banks to request originals to photocopy for bank records.
