Hi folks,
Wanted to run something by you.
In my state (Wa) and in Pierce County you can look up cases under peoples names for FREE--a lot of courts use those LINX systems and you have to pay, but this one is free. At any rate, after hearing about this LexisNexis outfit I went scounting about on the internet just to see what is out there on ME. I checked the court records in that county and only found my divorce and my request for a protection order (my ex was a psycho for awhile dating someone else during our seperation yet not wanting to "grant" my divorce...yes, that controlling!)
Anyway, -I have a fairly rare name and come to find out there is someone with MY exact name--(First MI Last) you all MAY be wondering what the deal is??? Well, she supposedly lives in the SAME city as my ex husband and is my age.
Nothing out of the ordinary on my CR's yet--so should I just wait or check it out for drill?
.....or maybe Elyse is just paranoid and BORED waiting for her bambino!

Funny you should mention this because I have a case file on-line in my county that names my attorney’s address. Anyway, my attorney called me last year to tell me that some CA, Collect America, dunce called them to collect on some old bogus account they claim I owe. After DV’ing them and sicking the FTC and Comptroller of the Currency on them they fessed up. Then started it all over again. My lawyer threatened to open a class action suit and they stopped bugging me. Of course, it was not for free. Like cell phone call charges, lawyers never miss a beat with the charges. Paranoid or not, it happens.
Also, my name was very rare until I found out two other people with nearly the same name and one with exactly the same name lives in the USA!!!!

i think you are right to be concerned Elyse.
i'm not sure what more you can do, apart from go do some more data mining (search search search) and see if you can find out anymore information on this same named person.
could be coincendence, but if it isnt??
since i'm having a kinda bad day credit/id theft wise i may be in a paraniod mood too.
best wishes for baby, come on we're waiting! :)

We had a problem because someone had the exact same name as my SO, but with a different middle initial B instead of G. That was a headache to clear up, especially since they also had similar SSNs!

Hi folks,
I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I'll try to do some sniffing about--I had half thought, "Hey cool--now I can just tell the CA's they may be mistaking me with her!" LOL... J/K of course.
Thanks for you folks' input. I think I may just check into this further to be safe. Of course I honestly feel SORRY for anyone who tries to steal my identity--but then it couldn't be for CREDIT that's for darn sure and that's even scarier to some degree.
Yeah, my dh had a fella living near us who also had the same name and his SSN was just slightly different. We once had a bill collector calling and I fired him out a letter to tell him, "LOOK BUDDY-ya got the wrong guy!" We never got bugged again but then again remember...I have YET to order dh's CURRENT CR's so we'll see.
Thanks folks--I'll try to not be paranoid, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
YES--look at that counter down there sitting there SMUGGLY saying, 38.9 weeks...I just try to remember he can't stay in there forever, but I am going a bit batty. Trying to keep busy while I wait and it's tough.

This guy whose first, MI, and last name is the same as mine has a son who lives a block away and I got a Crap-1 credit card application sent to him at my address last year. It seems he owes them a bag full of interest and charges too. Not only do we get stuck with results of ID theft, the idiots assume every bad credit risk in the eastern USA lives at my address :)

OMG-I HATE that! xhotx
One time I tried to get a phone service set up but couldn't because, "the people who lived there before you haven't paid their bill..." I about throttled someone. I eventually got the phone service, but STILL--and I don't care if they were assuming I was the original person, that's a crappy thing to do and an even crappier way to run a business.
Also--when I bought my new home and I attempted to open a utility account for heat/garbage/water they said that I couldn't until my BOYFRIEND paid his bill on HIS previous residence! See, they got my name because my b/f was often away in the field and I was trying to help settle his accounts so what they did was they added MY name to HIS account at HIS house! GRRRR!!!

Congrats on the blessed event!
Both of my sons decided they liked where they were and were not coming out. They were both 2 weeks late. My mother told me that my youngest looked like a kindergartner when he was born. 25 inches, 13 pounds. Geeze.
