It's two weeks overdue, but ya know. :)

Had a great time, that place is Hoppin'! Honestly had a much better time and drank much better wine than I did the last time at napa. True all tastings were $10, but you get 5-6 tastes and you get to keep the wine glass.

Very impressed with the area - it's the place to invest if you want to get in early. Little vineyards going up everywhere!

There were 36 world-class wineries with exquisite tasting rooms and cheerful staff, which I can't say about Napa. We went to this one place that had the most delicious baked-in-the-bread Brie. And we sat out in a nice patio with live music. I really want to go back!

My favorite wine was a red blend called Cody's Crush that is served chilled - what a prefect summer wine and so unusual. I loved it! It's from Maurice Carrie winery and unfortunately is only sold there. It was $9.99/bottle.

When I was dating my soon to be wife, we went on the tour there at Maurice Carrie and tasted a lot of their stuff. My favorite was a spring wine (name escapes me) that was very smooth and sweet and suggested as a cordial - alas, it was only available during a short period as it was special stuff. Loved it there!

The Food Lion has a nice summer selection of Boone's Farm. Very fruity. The twist-off cap is a nice feature, too. :)%

You know, North Carolina wines are making a rebound. Probably a dozen or so within 50 miles of me. I think they even use corks!
