SOOO close to getting a job I can freakin' TASTE it, people! Yesterday I went for some initial testing at a local phone company and I actually passed...which is amazing because I've been a SAHP for so long I feel like my brains are MUSH.
Anyway, this Friday I go in to do the role play portion to the test and IF that goes well, I'll get to turn in my app and do an interview on the SPOT.
I am truly praying for this because not only will this give me the day shift I need, but 4 dollars MORE than the job I am currently taking assessment classes for!
I've been going to classes each Saturday so that they can ascertain whether or not I am "teach-able." LOL...problem is, I can't wait another MONTH for work and this is all UNpaid. :( I won't know if I'm actually hired until August. 25th.
Anyway, we'll see how it all works out.

Thank you, folks!!! I love the support, it helps me. We really do need the funds and if I'm going to be a single parent in the next year or so, I want to be prepared!
There is a minor problem though...
IF the phone company hires me or wants to, I am unsure as to how I would choose because while they offer 4 more dollars per hour, I don't believe they offer to pay for education funds like the other company! Oh well...I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, I guess.

Well...tomorrow's the big day. I go in for final testing w/ the local phone company. IF they offer me a job, I can't believe I'll have to choose b/w them and BOEING! Goodness, now there's a situation I never thought of myself EVER being in!
Either way, I figure--ok, so if they DO NOT offer me a job (which, let's face it is MORE the liklihood, been at home WAY too long, lol) than that's fine, I'll take the Boeing job and keep working at it. Get my education, Get a day job eventually.
All will be well! I'll let ya folks know what happens tomorrow!! Gosh, I'm so excited...reminds me of the day before my first day of school! Getting a job offers me more than just money and benefits...a chance to get away from the house a bit and converse w/ adults MORE often and let's face it, once you start using the word "potty" in your everyday vocabularly it's definitely time. LOL...all prayers and luck fairies and candles WELCOME!!!!

$4 more an hour, if you're working full time, turns out to be $8,000 more per year (gross). I'd evaluate that against the cost of the education plans the other companies offer, because you might come out ahead, even with taxes.
Good luck!

Ok, so I went to my final tests and interview. So far, so good however-the "final decision is up to the HR department..." I wasn't able to come tell ya all because that was QUITE the long day. Than, I had to get up the next morning and go to class. Didn't want to miss those just in case the phone company thing falls through, or they otherwise can't hire me at this time.
:)
I'm getting really excited!!!
And yes, I was weighing the pro's and con's and I'm going to price college if I were to pay on my own--just to see. Also, I guess I should mention that the OTHER job I am going to assessment classes for (that for now, appears to pay LESS) is a lot more physically demanding. Almost seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it? LOL.
Than again---here's a little tid bit...the offer I got from the phone company about the job, said it starts at 16.27 per hour on up to 20 whatever...than, in the interview Friday, she just said it was "based on experience, education, etc." Soooo...if they offer me minimum wage, I'm gone. That'll make the decision ever so much easier...that and if they don't have enough positions and there are other more qualified candidates. LOL. Gosh,we really need the money!!!! Already working out savings plans!!! :)
