Thank you for the compliment. ;)

Unfortunately I didnt pass. I was so close!! I didnt take enough time to master my financial calculator and found myself stuck with some of the questions. Not to mention I stayed up until 1:30 trying to cram and didnt get adequate sleep.

Gunna go take it again this week. *sigh* :?

Thank you everyone for the well wishes though!

I'm sure you will do better next time....

When I took my first MCSE exam, I messed up badly and skipped a circle on the form, when I discovered it, I did not have enough time to correct my error and continue with the test and I failed...I had never failed a test like that before 2400.00 almost down the drain....

I did make good enough scores on the other 5 tests that I was able to retake the easiest one again...

Best of luck to you

I'm sure you'll do fine, just remember to rest so that your brain can function properly. I am a loan officer as well and just relocated to Illinois. I've had 2 babies in the past 2 years and don't even remember who the old me is :) I took this year off to stay home with my babies, but trust me when i say that i am not looking forward to the testing tht awaits me.

It's not easy. I work from 9-2 in the office and then the rest of my time I work from home so I am able to drop off/pick up my older 2 kids from school. The hardest part so far is coming to the conclusion that Im never really "off the clock" and have a hard time seperating work from family.

Moms dont get to punch out and call it a day. Our job is 24/7. 8] It nearly took an act of congress in order for me to take a class all day last week, what with picking up/dropping off/taking dd to dance/cooking dinner/taking care of a 10 month old.

Mama's got some big shoes to fill! The only "down" time I get now a days is after everyones in bed.

And let it be known to everyone...I am by no means complaining. ;) I love my job!

MortgageMom, what licensing requirements do you have to have for NV? I heard next to CA, thats the toughest state.

Morrow,

The links I posted above are resources that I've used in learning my financial calculator. I had almost forgotten about the link below that would probably help you even more and much quicker to use the calculator for real estate applications, etc.

Professional Real Estate Problem Solving using HP 12c (http://www.amazon.com/Professional-Estate-Problem-Solving-Using/dp/0962423645/ref=sr_1_1/104-1126370-9116740?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192375283&sr=8-1)

I've got my insurance and securities licenses and NONE of them have required me to know how to use a financial calculator for continuing education (if you can believe that). My planning certification HAS required knowing the basic skills on a calculator, but I still don't know it well enough in depth.

It's good to know that there are SOME licenses out there that have stringent licensing requirements and ongoing education.

They are asking us to figure out the APR on loans. While it may sound like a no-brainer, keep in mind that EVERY broker/loan officer out there has a computer program that automatically computes it for you. Nobody has to manually do it. And anyone who has seen a financial calculator knows its not just punching in a few numbers and spitting out the answer.

Its alot friggin harder than it sounds!

Gettingm licensed in NV was pretty simple. Unless it has chaned recently, there is an online test that you take. First you read the info then you take the test. You can either print the material that you just read and refer back to it during testing or you could open up another browser window and switch back and forth if you forgot something. I would guess with all the recent foreclosure news, change is on the horizon for those testing requirements ;)

FYI...I took it again this past Saturday and passed!! YAY!!!

Actually I think the reason I didnt pass the first time was because I had "marked" some questions to review later, but forgot to review them. I figured they would just come back at the end of the test, they didnt. When I was finished, I confimed that I wanted to end the test and failed to review my "marked" questions.

Friggin lame, huh?

Im done for now, going to wait and take my brokers test later on down the road. But lets just celebrate this little victory now, shall we? ;)

HA! That is friggin lame.

I've done that before with scantrons.... and have also missed seeing the last 5 questions or so on the back page of a test once... you always feel like a dunce.
