A friend from my misspent youth said he prefered imported wine like "King Cotton", imported from Rome... Georgia. I liked Boones Farm "Wild Apple" myself. King of the screwcaps!

Did you see they came out with Boone's Farm Blue Hawaii? I almost bought some tonight, but then didn't. I think you gave me a sign I need to go back to the store tonight. 88-)

Thunderbird???

Over 30 years ago, in my (much) younger days, someone asked me if I wanted some Thunderbird. They had tried it and didn't like it.

I said I'd drink anything. After a sip, I dumped it down the drain. Then I worried for hours that the pipes would be burned out by the wine. It was bad!!! Even then, when I didn't really know better.

Believe it or not I used to love that stuff. The Old English, never could stand Mad Dog.

When I was a liquor and wine rep, it used to amaze me how much Boone's Farm I would sell. A Wal-Mart store I had would go 20-30 cases A WEEK during the summer months. One customer use to have the liquor dept. manager order her a couple of cases of Strawberry Hill every few weeks so she could be sure she had enough at the house for when friends came over. The funny thing was, she wasn't some poor college student, she was an older lady who had plenty of money. I always had this visual of a bunch of granny's getting faded while gossiping and doing needle point. LOL

I never liked Boone's Farm. Too sweet and not nearly enough alcohol. When I drank a cheap wine it would be those Gallo jug wines or maybe Riunite. Do they still make that stuff???

Riunite on ice....so nice!! Yep, they still make that stuff, one of my Lutheran churches had a standing order every month for that as their communion wine.xangelx

Really?? That's different. All the church wine I've ever had has been truly nasty stuff. At least the Lutherans got something that tasted okay.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Arbor Mist!

I remember when a bottle of that stuff actually achieved tipsy. ;-)

I cracked open a bottle of NightTrain Express this weekend. That stuff is awful. I have a bottle of thunderbird chilling. I'll take care of it this weekend (maybe I'll use it for the CIC Toast Across America). I'm trying to find a place around here that sells Cisco. I'm dying to try a wine that has a flavor of "Red".....
