A few years ago, my husband lost his job and got sued by Retailers Natl. Bank for a Target Card. They put a lien on our home. Now we got a note from MBcn saying that we need to settle the debt and they had inflated the amount by quite a bit. Apparently, they bought the judgment and underlying debt upon which judgment is based.
I am wondering what my options are. I thought that since they put a lien on our home that we needed to pay it if we wanted to sell the home OR proceeds from sale of home would cover the loss. I am clearly ignorant on this issue.
Question: CAN MBcn garnish wages or levy our bank account with this judgement since Target/Retailers already has a lien on our home?
