Default Capital One... set to fall off before the end of this year.

I've got 2 old Capital One accounts that are set to fall off by the end of this year according to my credit reports. I know that the DOLP was May of 2001 for the first and November of 2001 for the second.

I have no proof of my last payments, and no old statements or anything. All I have are old credit reports going back to 2003 showing the "This account scheduled to stay on record until..." date, which hasn't changed in 5 years.

Will this be enough to get them to remove the accounts from my report in the event they decide to keep reporting beyond the 7 years? What do I do if they keep reporting or even worse reage? Who is the burden of proof on in the event I have to sue?

I'm real nervous about this as we want to buy a house next year and everything I couldn't get off my reports is scheduled to fall off before the end of the year.

Any advice is appreciated. I'd like to be prepared for the worst.

Eddie
